OverviewJoin us for a scenic 6.5-mile circular walk starting from Halling Train Station, exploring the North Downs Way with views across the Medway Valley. This varied route includes a steady woodland climb, classic chalk ridge walking, and clear views down to the striking blue waters of St Andrew’s Lakes.
Route Details
We begin at Halling Train Station, leaving the village behind as we head uphill through Wingate Wood. The route climbs steadily through woodland before emerging onto the chalk ridge, where we join the North Downs Way, one of Britain’s best-known long-distance footpaths.
Following the ridge towards Cuxton, the path offers wide-ranging views across the Medway Valley. A highlight of this section is the clear view down to St Andrew’s Lakes, with its famous vivid blue water.
At Cuxton, the route loops around and begins the return journey, following a mix of downs paths and quieter tracks. The final section leads us back towards Halling with a gentle descent, completing a varied circular walk that showcases some of the best scenery in this part of the Kent Downs.
