Kensington Comedy Night is San Diego’s hottest free stand-up show, happening every Saturday at 7:30PM at Mission Brewing Kensington. 🎤🍻 Each week features a brand-new lineup of top comics bringing the laughs, while you kick back with craft beer, hard seltzers, or wine. There’s never a cover charge—just a packed room, great drinks, and nonstop comedy energy that makes Saturday nights unforgettable. <NOTE: This show is usually on the patio unless it rains or it gets really cold, then it will be moved inside.>

Kensington Comedy Night is back at Mission Brewing with another killer Saturday lineup, and this week San Diego’s own Kyle Dean headlines.
Kyle is a comedian, producer, booker, host, and teacher—which means he spends his days controlling a room full of children and his nights controlling a room full of adults drinking beer. Honestly, the skill set transfers almost perfectly.
As a producer with Everloving Comedy and the driving force behind the weekly comedy show at The Jazzy Wishbone in Oceanside, Kyle doesn’t just perform in the San Diego comedy scene—he helps keep the entire thing moving. Week after week, he books lineups, hosts shows, develops comics, builds audiences, and turns a North County jazz lounge into one of the area’s most consistent independent comedy rooms.
His own bio describes him as a teacher by day and “kind of a comedian at night,” which is either extreme humility or the sort of grading curve only a teacher could invent. Kyle has performed throughout San Diego County at clubs, breweries, bars, showcases, and independent rooms—including right here at Kensington Comedy Night—and now he returns to close the show.
His comedy is grounded in the exhausted perspective of a man who spends every day surrounded by students, then voluntarily spends his evenings surrounded by comedians. That is not work-life balance. That is choosing two different forms of chaos and somehow turning both into material.
Kyle brings sharp observations, veteran hosting instincts, natural crowd work, and the relaxed confidence of someone who has already handled audiences far less predictable than a Saturday-night brewery crowd.
He’s also one of those rare comics who understands a great show from every possible angle: writing the jokes, working the room, building the lineup, promoting the event, and making sure every comic actually arrives. In local comedy, that last skill alone should qualify him for a lifetime-achievement award.
