Join Twin Cities PBS and the Minnesota Historical Society for a thoughtful panel and discussion event inspired by Ken Burns’ documentary, THE AMERICAN REVOLUTION.
The American Revolution is a six-part, 12-hour documentary series that explores the country's founding struggle and its eight-year War for Independence. The film is directed by Ken Burns, Sarah Botstein, and David Schmidt.
The evening will begin with a short screening of the film’s overview, setting the stage for a deeper conversation about the people, ideas, and conflicts that shaped America’s founding. Following the screening, a panel of historians and experts will explore the Revolution’s national significance and local connections, offering fresh perspectives on a familiar story. The program will conclude with a moderated discussion and audience Q&A, inviting attendees to engage directly with the themes of the film and consider how the legacy of the American Revolution continues to influence our understanding of history today.
