Join us for an engaging community conversation featuring local leaders working to advance climate action and clean energy solutions in Saint Paul. During this session, you'll learn about the City's recently updated Climate Action & Resilience Plan (CARP), which outlines a path toward citywide carbon neutrality by 2050, as well as emerging opportunities for Thermal Energy Networks (TENs) and community geothermal energy projects on the East Side.
Whether you're passionate about sustainability, curious about renewable energy, or simply interested in what's happening in your neighborhood, this event offers an opportunity to learn, ask questions, and connect with others working toward a cleaner, healthier future for Saint Paul.
The presentation will be followed by a community Q&A and discussion.

Climate Action Coordinator, City of Saint Paul
Liz Boyer serves as Climate Action Coordinator for the City of Saint Paul, where she leads local climate initiatives and advances the City's Climate Action & Resilience Plan (CARP). She is passionate about connecting people and organizations around shared climate and community goals. Liz will provide an overview of the newly adopted 2026 CARP and the City’s vision for achieving net-zero carbon emissions goals.
- Paolo Speirn
Geothermal Program Developer, Cooperative Energy Futures
Paolo Speirn has spent years helping communities advance practical climate solutions through energy efficiency and renewable energy initiatives. Today, he works with Cooperative Energy Futures to develop innovative networked geothermal systems designed to reduce energy costs, improve efficiency, and help communities transition away from fossil fuels. Paolo will discuss Thermal Energy Networks (TENs) and the growing opportunities for geothermal energy in Saint Paul.
