Keeping It Reel Film Series Presents See It Through My Eyes
About this Event
This documentary explores how immigration has shaped the lives of women in the United States through the experiences of first- and second-generation immigrants. Through personal interviews, historical research, and expert perspectives, the film examines their journeys before and after immigration, including the challenges, opportunities, and questions of identity, family, culture, and belonging.
Featuring the stories and perspectives of Supna Jain, Cynthia Castillo, Anita Knotts, Saily Joshi, Nandini Asar, and Madhu Uppal, the documentary highlights how immigration experiences can differ across generations. Rather than presenting immigration as simply positive or negative, the film focuses on the complexity of each woman’s journey and encourages greater empathy and understanding of immigrant women and their families.
