One of the most convincing and best-preserved expressions of classical architecture in Britain.Completed for the Curzon family between 1759 - 1765 as a house to rival Chatsworth, it was intended as ‘a temple of the arts’ and as the location for grand entertainments rather than a comfortable family home; with the family still living in a private family wing today.
