Kaurna/Adelaide Supporting Young People to Tackle Racism Workshop
About this Event
Join us on Karuna Country/Adelaide for our Supporting Young People to Tackle Racism workshop.
This workshop will be hosted at the Conservation Council of SA's training space.
This 90 minute workshop is designed for teachers, youth workers, community sector staff and all who work with young people and want to support their confidence and resilience to take action against racism. Young people have incredible capacity to take action against injustice, and even more when the grown-ups around them empower them!
This session equips participants with different approaches, writing prompts, reflection questions, activities and resources for young people to address racism. It unpacks power dynamics and norms within traditional learning environments that often restrict young people from challenging racism and supports those who work with young people to better understand the impacts of racism, the scale of responses required, and the capacities of young people to fight back.
