About this Event

Kate Farley is a British designer, printmaker and academic whose practice explores the relationship between pattern, material processes and design. Based at Norwich University of the Arts, she has worked with organisations including Transport for London and the Barbican Centre, and her work is held in collections including the British Library and Tate.

Print Rotate Repeat, Farley’s first UK solo exhibition, brings three years of practice-based research into the gallery. Revisiting the principles and processes of printed textile design, Farley explores what analogue methods of making might offer at a moment when artificial intelligence and digital technologies are rapidly transforming creative practice. Through a deliberately constrained printing methodology, the exhibition considers pattern as both a material and intellectual practice, raising questions around sustainability and creative authorship.
