Kare-San-Sui 枯山水 (Japanese Rock Garden) Workshop
Immerse yourself in the timeless craft of Karesansui, the Japanese art of dry landscape gardening, where nature’s beauty is expressed through the careful arrangement of rocks, sand, and other natural elements.
During this hands-on workshop, guided by the , you will learn how to craft your own Japanese dry rock garden in a 9x12-inch box. The session covers:
- The basics of rock placement and arrangement.
- Techniques for drawing Samon 砂紋(ripple patterns) in the sand, representing waves and adding life to your garden.
- Insights into the philosophical meaning behind Karesansui.
All materials are provided, including a take-home kit with a box, a 5-piece rake set, sand, stones, and moss, so whether you're a beginner or a garden enthusiast, you can enjoy the meditative process of designing your miniature landscape.
