COMPETITION RULES

1. AUDITIONS: Open auditions will be held on Saturday, February 1st & February 8th. Each contestant must register for either of the two audition nights, prior to their selected day. Only 12 contestants will fill each of the audition nights so register early. Only 5 from each night will move on. If you are not selected on February 1st to move on, you may try again on February 8th, if spots are available. In the event of a tie vote at the end of each audition night, more than 5 contestants may move on to the competition meaning more than 1 will be eliminated on week 1.

2. CONTESTANTS: Each contestant will be asked to fill out a form to include their name, phone number & a valid email for corresponding w/ the DJ. Each contestant must sign an agreement prior to auditioning, agreeing that they will be available to compete in each of the 8 competition weeks if voted forward. If a contestant fails to show or cannot make a week, they will be eliminated from the competition.

3. COMPETITION: 2 weeks of auditions & 8 weeks of Competition. The competition will start promptly at 5:30pm w/ introductions & the music will start promptly at 5:45pm. A random selection of performances will be drawn by the judges each night prior to the competition. If a contestant is not present when their name is called, they may be eliminated unless the judges & DJ agree to let the contestant compete later in the evening based on their circumstance.

4. SONG CHOICES: Contestants will be supplied with song lists to choose from each week by the DJ. All song choices must be turned into the DJ no later than midnight on the Friday prior to each competition night. Contestants may not repeat any song from their prior performances, unless stated in the week’s line-up, or those of another contestant. All songs are available on a first come – first served basis. Please get your song choices in as early as possible to guarantee your choices. If songs are not selected & turned in on time, song choices will not be available, and no songs will be entered for you for that night. This will result in disqualification. The DJ will not be entering song choices for contestants the night of competition.

5. DISQUALIFICATION: In the event of a disqualification, a replacement may be made through week 3 only. The replacement contestants will be listed in the order that they finished in the auditions. If a replacement cannot take a spot, we will continue down the list until one is available.

6. WEEKLY SONG LINE-UPS:

Auditions 2 songs of choice

Week 1 Now & Then Night / 1 current song (2020-2024) & 1 older song (1950-1979) / 1 elimination

Week 2 80’s Night / 2 songs from the 80’s / 1 elimination

Week 3 90’s Night / 2 songs from the 90’s / 1 elimination

Week 4 Disney Night / 2 songs from any animated Disney movie / 1 elimination

Week 5 Megastar Night / 1 elimination

3 songs chosen from either of the artists below / (no more than 2 songs from 1 artist)

Michael Jackson, Cher, Elton John, Whitney Houston, Usher, Taylor Swift, Garth Brooks or Adele

Week 6 Country Night / 3 country songs of choice / (no more than 2 songs from 1 artist) 1 elimination

Week 7 Rock N Roll Night / 3 songs of choice from (1980 -2020) / 1 elimination

(no more than 2 songs from 1 artist)

Week 8 THE FINALS – 4 songs - 2 previous songs from any week by you

2 songs that highlight your talent and are worthy of the title.

7. GUEST JUDGES: Each week we will feature 3 guest judges to comment on each individual performance. During auditions, the judges will cast private votes & the top 5 vote getters collectively will move on to the competition. The judges will vote in 3 categories for each contestant’s performances, musicality, stage presence & overall performance. Their scale will be 1-10, 10 being the highest, 1 being the lowest in each category.

The judges will vote along with the audience during the competition weeks the same way that they did during the auditions.

8. JUDGING: Each contestant will be judged on musicality, stage presence & overall performance. Contestants are encouraged to dress accordingly to enhance their stage performance, use props & to interact & connect with the judges & the audience.

9. VOTING: Audience participation will be crucial to the success of the contest and to those competing. Each competition week audience members will be given a voting slip to vote for their favorite contestants. Audience members will rate each contestant in the order that they feel pertains to their performance. Example: 10 contestants – rate your best w/ a 10, next best w/ a 9 and so on down to your least favorite w/ a 1. The entire voting slip must be filled in to be valid & counted, this gives everyone a chance in the contest. All voting slips will be collected 10 minutes after the last judge’s comment. Votes will be tallied immediately, and we will announce those still in the competition in random order and eliminate 1 or more contestants from the competition.

10. SWAG & RAFFLES: each week our sponsors will hand out merchandise to our audience during intermissions.

A 50/50 raffle will be collected weekly & drawn at the conclusion of the competition night before announcing the results. An audience member will win half of what is collected, and the other half will go to costs associated with the competition.

11. GRAND PRIZE: The winner of the Karaoke Idol Contest will receive a check in the amount of $1000.00, a Trophy &

the title of “KARAOKE IDOL 2025” . 2nd & 3rd Place will also win prizes & a Trophy

12. All decisions of the judges, DJ & the audience votes are final. If a contestant or audience member acts inappropriately, the Judges, DJ or Sponsors may ask them to leave the premises immediately. If it is a contestant, they may be disqualified from the competition.
