Kalsubai Peak Trek

Embark on an adventurous journey to Kalsubai Peak, the highest peak in Maharashtra standing tall at 5,400 ft (1,646 m). This trek offers an exciting blend of lush forests, flowing waterfalls, expansive grasslands, and panoramic views that stretch across the entire Bhandardara region.

The trek is not only scenic but also holds deep cultural significance. At the summit lies the revered Kalsubai Temple, visited by pilgrims year-round. According to local legend, Kalsubai was a young village girl known for helping people with agriculture and healing animals. One day, she climbed the mountain and never returned, leading villagers to build shrines—one midway and one at the summit—in her honor.

From the top, trekkers can enjoy spectacular views of famous forts like Alang, Madan, Kulang, Ratangad, Ajoba Parvat, as well as serene sights like Bhandardara Lake and Wilson Dam. During the pre-monsoon period, fireflies illuminate the trail, and the iconic cloud carpet spreads below the peak. On clear days, you can also spot Harihargad, Harishchandragad, and Katrabai in the distance.

Monsoon treks are fog-covered and windy, ideal for day climbs. Post-monsoon night treks are popular for their mesmerizing sunrise views and cooler temperatures.

Kalsubai Trek – Pune Itinerary

Day Zero

07:45 PM: Assemble at McDonald`s, Deccan.

08:00 PM: Depart for Bari village.

08:20 PM: Pickup at New Shivajinagar Bus Stop.

08:40 PM: Pickup at Nashik Phata.

Day One

03:00 AM: Arrive at Bari Village; introduction session.

03:30 AM: Begin trek towards Kalsubai Peak.

07:00 AM: Reach the summit; explore the top.

08:00 AM: Breakfast.

08:30 AM: Begin descent.

11:30 AM: Reach base village; enjoy simple veg lunch (Jain food available).

01:00 PM: Start return journey to Pune.

08:00 PM: Approximate arrival in Pune (road conditions may cause delays).

If you book the wrong date/batch and request a change within 3 days of departure, a transfer fee of ₹200 per person will apply.
