KaKaw Ceremony (colonial terminology: Cacao)
The original spelling of KaKaw holds a very sacred linguistic importance as each syllable has a divine meaning. "Aw" means the central spirit of the cosmos. Without exception the syllable Aw is spoken in every Maya ceremony as it is present in the name of the Divine we call upon known as "AJAW" The first syllable of KaKaw is Kak which means blood. The lifeforce that courses through our veins. Therefore KaKaw means the blood of the divine central Spirit (Creator) that gives us life. This is truly ancestral sacred medicine which as been diluted by Power Over Paradigm consciousness (wetiko the shadow dense energies). It is important we use the original correct terminology as it sets the highest frequency intention for the ceremony.
KaKaw ceremonies first originated in ancient Mesoamerican cultures particularly among the Olmecs Mayans and Aztecs where KaKaw was used in religious rituals and as a sacred drink. These ceremonies were integral to important life events and were believed to connect participants with the divine and promote emotional and spiritual healing. A KaKaw ceremony is a spiritual ritual that involves consuming ceremonial-grade KaKaw often in a group setting to promote connection healing and self-exploration. It opens the sacred heart and focuses on themes of gratitude intention and reciprocity.
