About the Speaker
Indigenous human rights attorney Julian Aguon is the founder of Blue Ocean Law and author of No Country for Eight-Spot Butterflies. He was lead attorney in a landmark case before the International Court of Justice, which ruled that wealthy nations have “a legal obligation to prevent harm” to frontline communities across the Pacific.
Julian’s address will be followed by Climate Hawaii's third annual Climate Leadership Awards.
The evening will also feature live music, cultural performances, tea, and cookies.

Organizers
Kaiāulu Ā Pa‘a, or "community strong," is a collaboration of Climate Hawai'i, Hawai'i Green Growth, and the Better Tomorrow Speaker Series. The convening will focus on community-based strategies to advance climate equity, democratize energy production, and strengthen resilience, from home to ahupua'a to archipelago.
