Join us for the official launch of Kaiju ATTACK! at Murky Waters Studio. All are welcome to come and see the art (no ticket needed). If you want to be in the exhibition, we’d love to have you create a work (grab a ticket for this!). Read on below to understand how that works: Great Scott! There’s a giant monster destroying the city! Eeeeyahhhh! Run for the hills the UFO is here. Lizard people are coming to get you! The Kaiju attacks! Murky Waters Studio invites artists working in any media to participate in an exhibition inspired by monster movies from the 1950s. Think science-fiction double-feature, giant ants and soldiers, King Kong and Godzilla. Unleash your inner monster and K*ll the creature!
Want in? Register by getting a $25 ticket and completing the requested information (name, artwork title, date, medium, size & price; put TBA if you don't know the info yet). Deliver the physical works to Murky Waters Studio on Sunday 31 August between 9 am - 12 pm. We'll hang the show and see you at the official launch: 5:30 pm Friday 5 September! The exhibition will be open to the public on Sundays 7 - 28 September from 9 am -12 pm. Your work will be available for collection again on Sunday 28 September between 12 - 2 pm.
We would love your drawings, paintings, sculptures, knitwear, prints, ready-mades and any other creative output that loosely addresses the theme. Get involved and be inspired by wacky monsters and 1950s horror sci-fi movies and help us pay our public liability insurance.
