K-5 Art Adventures: Irish Fairy Forts

The Hannibal Arts Council continues Art Adventures, its popular creative project series, at 5:30 p.m. on Friday, March 6 at the Hannibal Arts Council, 105 S Main St. The March Art Adventure is a creative project for grades K-5th.

Participants will create Irish Fairy Forts by using an array of crafty elements including terracotta pots, felt, flat glass marbles, wood circles, aquarium rocks, faux flowers and moss.

Throughout Irish folklore it is said that Fairy Forts are places where magical, mischievous and mysterious happenings occur. Fairies, leprechauns and all sorts of mystical characters protect and reside in these circular dwellings.

This fun craft will engage participants in various elements and principles of art as well as provide a tinge of Irish fun right in time for St. Patick’s Day.
