JXTA VALT for Adults is here!

Due to popular demand from our supporters and 21+ audience, we’ve created a sip-and-create style workshop rooted in our esteemed Visual Art Literacy Training (VALT) curriculum.

Pull up for a night at JXTA with drinks, charcuterie and hors d’oeuvres, a social hour to connect, and a guided art-making experience with a focus on illustration, led by a professional artist from our community.

Whether you’re looking to build your skills, tap back into your creative practice, or just let loose and have a good time—this space is for you.

Info: Arrive, check in, and ease into the evening with curated music, light bites, and drinks. This opening social sets the tone—an intentional space to connect, unwind, and build community before stepping into the creative process.

Info: Led by a JXTA teaching artist, this immersive session draws from our Visual Art Literacy Training (VALT) curriculum. Participants will be guided through illustration techniques, creative storytelling, and design fundamentals—creating space to explore personal expression while building new artistic skills.

Info: We close the evening in community. Participants are invited to share their work, engage in thoughtful dialogue, and reflect on their creative process. Light critique and conversation are encouraged in a supportive environment, followed by time to package and take home your completed artwork.
