Baylea Bower was killed by an intoxicated driver, Destany Lester, on the Coalfield Expressway in West Virginia on April 20, 2025.
Destany has plead Guilty to two counts of her indictment. 1. DUI causing Death (3 to 15 Years) 2. Possession of a Schedule II Controlled Substance (up to 6 Months). She is now a felon awaiting sentencing.
Her sentencing is January 27th, 2026 at 1:30pm. The family is requesting the presence of anyone who wants to show their support of Baylea, and for ensuring the maximum sentence be given for this devastating crime. They miss her dearly and this tragedy left a hole within their family that will never be filled. But we will keep Baylea’s memory alive. This will be a peaceful gathering of love and support for this family.
Destany Lester stated on the record “I will proceed as respectfully as I can moving forward. It would be best for all the family involved.” There will be no threats tolerated whatsoever.
