History
Just Voices was founded by Greg Furlong in 2004 to bring together people who loved to sing and were passionate about seeking a better world. From Earth Day to a march to end the Iraq war, from the Ottawa Folk Festival to the Odawa Friendship Centre and many more, our community choir has sung out at events that reflect our commitment to peace, social justice and the environment. Just Voices sings mostly a cappella, in many languages and styles, from Swahili to Georgian and from folk and blues to rap and classical. We even write our own words, like Car Free City set to a round by Telemann. We welcome all singers to join us and bring their ideas and their voices to this collaborative effort.
