JUNK MODELLING - Make, Shake and Rap
About this Event
Get creative with the North Yorkshire Waste and Recycling Team and turn everyday recyclable materials into your very own musical instrument.
As part of this year's Read to the Beat Summer Reading Challenge, you'll design and make an instrument using recycled materials, then put it to the test by joining in with a fun seaside themed rap performed by one of our talented library volunteer Louise, a musician and teacher.
Can your homemade instrument keep the beat? Come along, get crafty, make some noise, and discover how recycling and music can come together in a fun and creative way.
Fun for all the family, (one child at least must be taking part in the Summer Reading Challenge) but younger siblings are welcome.
We will have lots of recyled items such as crisp tubes, coffee tins and tubs, but do feel free to bring anything that might make an interesting instrument with you.
Then decorate your instrument with embelishments, colouring pens and really make it your own.
Make sure to follow us on facebook and eventbrite for all the infomration on our many activitiesther is lots of fun and creativity this summer at your library!
