In this six-week Juniors Art Club project, children will design and create their very own board game from start to finish, building one exciting project that develops week by week.
They will begin by coming up with a theme for their game, from magical worlds and treasure hunts to racing challenges or fantasy adventures. Children will design their game board, create characters or playing pieces, and think carefully about the journey players will take.
As the weeks progress, they will develop the rules of their game, add obstacles, rewards and surprises, and bring everything to life with colour, illustration and mixed materials. There will be opportunities to test and refine their games, encouraging problem-solving, creativity and critical thinking.
This project is all about imagination, storytelling and design, while also helping children build confidence in their ideas and decision-making. By the end of the term, each child will have a fully playable, handmade board game to take home and enjoy with family and friends.
All materials are included, and sessions are relaxed, supportive and suitable for a range of abilities.
