Jungle Summer Novice Comp III

A novice comp represents the perfect opportunity for lifters and coaches of all levels to gain experience on the powerlifting platform. Test your numbers under comp conditions, with one of the most supportive communities at your back.

🔹40 lifters, 2 flights, 1 session

🔹Full meet, Bench only, Deadlift only entries available

🔹APL rules; combo rack and power bar for squats and bench, deadlift bar for deads.

🔹Weigh-ins 7:30AM-8:30AM

🔹Lifting begins at 9:30AM

When do entries close? Entries will close 2 weeks out (Sunday 30th November) or when all competitor spots have been filled. If you miss out due to the event being sold out, we'll place you on a waitlist in the event that anyone else drops out.

What do I wear? Whilst you can opt for the powerlifting soft suit, it's not a requirement for a novice comp. T-shirt, shorts, leggings, etc are all fine, though it's recommended you go for something form-fitting to make it easy for our judges to call squat depth,etc. Belts, knee sleeves, wrist wraps are all game.

Will there be weight classes? We will not be running weight classes on the day. However, we will have best male and best female lifter prizes based on DOTS points (DOTS is a calculated score to compare lifters across different weight classes). If you want to be eligible, you must be weighed in by one of our support crew day of.

Are spectators allowed? Absolutely! Powerlifting is as much about the community as it is the lifting. Invite your friends and family down to cheer you on. We'll have plenty of seating and amenities available.
