About this Event

Celebrating Resilience- This presentation by Thembi Palmer underscores the beautiful aspects of African culture that were preserved and continue to flourish despite the realities of enslavement. Through storytelling, we explore the day's historical significance, traditions like parades and red foods, and "Songs of Freedom" with coded messages. We will experience songs and dances that highlight the ingenuity and resilience of enslaved people in their pursuit of liberation. Please register everyone in your party. For ages 5-8.
