Cycle Connect 417 will host our "Connect Rides" on a Saturday from April to November. All women** are welcome to join us for a casual and fun bike ride on paved trails and bike-friendly paved roadways.
June Connect Ride: we will start and end our ride at the Ozark Community Center in Ozark, MO. We will meet in the parking lot closest to Jackson St.
We will have groups based on speed and distance. These will be no-drop rides within your groups, which means no one is left behind by themselves! And we mean that - no one has ever been left alone on any of our no-drop rides. Ever.
Hang out afterwards with a tasty beverage and connect with the women in your cycling community. We plan to head over to the Workshop at Finley Farms.
Helmets are required! Bike lights are encouraged for safety, but are not mandatory. Please do not feel like you need to have experience riding to have fun with us! Every month we have many women attend who are on their FIRST group ride....ALL WOMEN AND ALL BIKES are welcome.
May Groups and Routes:
GROUP A:
Distance of about 5-6miles
Expect the entire roundtrip ride to take about an hour, with many stops. There will be a designated ride leader and sweep, with perhaps a middle leader, depending on the size of the group. This group is recommended for the beginner cyclist with little experience or those wanting an easy-going pace. You do not have to be "in shape"! We only add this because we get asked all the time what level of fitness is required for our smaller route. This route is 100% paved trail and an out and back on the Chadwick Flyer Trail.
GROUP B:
Distance of about 12-15 miles
Expect the entire route to take about an hour, with plenty of stops along the way to keep the group together. This group is recommended if you are comfortable with a 10-12 mph pace and on a paved road with some paved trail. There will be a designated ride leader and sweep.
**Hey Fellas!! We don't mean to leave you out, but we also kinda do. We hear from many ladies that they would just rather ride with other women sometimes (especially new cyclists). All are welcome to hang out with us afterwards to share a beverage! The more the merrier.
