July Sketch-Meet at Nanaksar Gurdwara Temple

We have a special sketch-meet on Saturday July 18th that one of our sketchers suggested. We will be sketching at the beautiful Nanaksar Gurdwara Gursikh Temple on the north-east outskirts of Edmonton. It is about a half-hour drive from city centre.
PLEASE NOTE: The timing for meeting up, lunch, etc. is different than our usual schedule.
Where: Nanaksar Gurdwara Temple (1410 Horsehills Road - just off Manning Dr/Hwy 15).
When: Saturday July 18 at 1:20pm (Please be there on time)
1:30pm: Group photo in front of the temple
1:45pm: Vegetarian lunch hosted by the temple in their community kitchen and dining area
2:15pm: Informal information sharing by our host about Sikh spirituality/religion, and etiquette while inside the temple. Questions are welcome.
2:45pm: Sketching inside and outside the temple until whatever time you wish. Departure time is individual.
Temple etiquette: Please dress modestly in comfortable clothing. Once inside the temple, we remove our shoes, and we will be provided with head scarves or you may wear your own head scarf while inside the temple.
Hand washing is important when entering the temple and before lunch. We will be shown hand washing stations.
Our guide at the temple has provided us with a video of his daughter in the temple so that we can see what to expect.
Vegetarian Lunch: There is no payment required for lunch, which is being generously provided by our hosts. However, I suggest that if you are able to, you may offer a donation to the temple.
Sketching inside the temple: Pencils only when inside. Once outside, wet media, ink, markers, etc. can be used. No portable stools inside the temple. In the prayer hall, seating is cross-legged on the floor, and there are some benches at the back for those who cannot sit on the floor. Please maintain quiet while in the prayer hall.
There is an elevator in the building for those who have mobility limitations.
Transportation: There is no public transit service to the temple. If anyone requires a ride, please post your request on our Facebook page along with the area of the city that you live in. If another sketcher lives in that general area, they can connect with you if they are able to offer you a ride.
This is a wonderful opportunity for a culturally interesting and visually beautiful sketch-meet. I hope to see you there!
