Join us for a heartfelt day of food, culture, community, and connection at the Standing Bear Community Chili & Bannock Bake-Off Fundraiser. A welcoming community gathering in support of cultural celebration, reconciliation, and togetherness. This event is open to everyone!
The land in Riverdale Community, perched at the edge of the North Saskatchewan River and at the heart of Edmonton, holds rich indigenous history. The community is fortunate to have numerous residents stewarding the land and have generously welcomed our Community to host our fundraiser in the cherished Riverdale Park, and Rinkhouse.

🪶 All proceeds from the fundraiser will go towards Standing Bear Community's 2026 Ghost Dance Ceremony held in Enoch in the fall.

Saturday, July 18th Fundraiser Day Events:
🌿 Community Chili & Bannock Tasting ($12 Donation Applies)
🎟️ 50/50 Raffle ($8 increments)
🔥 Silent Auction (optional)
🪶 Cultural Gathering (free)
🪶 Drumming & Song (free)
💛 Community Connection (free)
🍵 Sweetgrass Tea (free)
🧂 (Tentative) Bannock-Making Workshop (free)
🔥 Evening-time fireside sharing
Come spend the day with us enjoying homemade chili and bannock creations from local participants, while supporting an important grassroots community fundraiser.
Guests will have the opportunity to:
• Taste and vote on delicious chili & bannock entries
• Browse unique handmade and donated silent auction items
• Participate in our 50/50 raffle
• Connect with community members in a welcoming and family-friendly environment
• Learn more about Ghost Dance and Standing Bear Community initiatives

🎫 Entry Fee: Free
🍞 Chili & Bannock Tasting: $12 per person

What to bring:
• Some lawn chairs for evening fireside hangouts
• Dress for the weather (rain or shine)

Suggested silent auction items include:
• Ribbon skirts & shirts
• Handmade jewelry
• Traditional clothing
• Artworks & crafts
• Crystals & cultural items
• Gift baskets and local goods
• New/Unused Houseware
We need volunteers to help with:
• Setup & Tear down (9am-12pm) & (6pm-8pm)
• Ticket Sales & Food Serving (12pm -7pm)
• Silent Auction Oversight (12pm-7pm)
• Firekeeper (4pm-7pm)
