Prof. Deen Sanders is a Professor in Law at the University of Newcastle, Special Counsel to Deloitte Access Economics, and Managing Director of Think. Know. Do – an Indigenous leadership, economics and strategy firm. With more than 30 years’ experience across corporate, regulatory and government sectors, he is recognised as a global thought leader in culture, law, economics and governance. He has undertaken two PhDs and was awarded the Order of Australia Medal in 2017.
Deen holds a number of influential roles, including Chair of the World Economic Forum Global Future Council on Natural Capital, and serves on multiple boards and government advisory committees across environment, law and economic development. He is a trusted advisor to senior leaders on complex and sensitive issues.
More importantly, he is a Worimi Giparr — cultural knowledge holder, deeply connected to his community — and a globally recognised Indigenous leader advocating for the integration of Indigenous knowledge and Western systems to shape stronger outcomes for business and society.
A highly regarded speaker both nationally and internationally, Deen also has a strong local connection, having grown up in Newcastle — making his insights especially relevant to our region’s business community.
