Celebrate the 5th Thursday in July! The public is invited to Plead The Fifth, a night of storytelling, music, art, truth, and inspiration on July 30th from 7 to 9 p.m. at Búho, Brownsville's independent bookstore at 1140 E Washington St.
Featured readers include Anthony Ripp, Jeannette Zallar, Lucinda Zamora Wiley, Sofia Zamora-Wiley, Kathy Trenfield Raines, Brownsville Poet Laureate Eduardo Villarreal Delos Reyes, and Daniel García Ordaz (a.k.a. The Poet Mariachi.)
Featured writers will have 10 minutes to perform. An open-mic session will follow, as time permits--with 5 minutes per open-mic performer.
This is a free event brought to you by the Seven To Eight Poetry Project.
We'd like to encourage guests to consider donating gently used or new books to Brownsville's only independent bookstore. This is not required, but welcome.
