Friends and Colleagues, we are thrilled to announce the Joyce Gordon Community Arts Gala & Fundraiser on Sunday, Nov 16th at Oakland Museum's Town Fare! https://givebutter.com/c/communityartsgala This premier fundraiser, is designed to unite the Bay Area's most influential Arts leaders who champion the next generation of youth artists. So we will be honoring the following leaders for their commitment to Arts in the local community:
✨ Angela M. Wellman, Founder of Oakland Public Conservatory of Music
✨ Thelma Harris, Founder of Thelma Harris Art Gallery
✨ Elena Serrano, Susanne Takehara, and Greg Morozumi, Founders of Eastside Arts Alliance
Our goal is to raise $50,000 before the end of 2025 to: secure the the Joyce Gordon Gallery as a permanent creative space for youth, launch our Pathways to Creativity mentorship and developmental program in 2026, and launch an Art Scholarship Fund to dismantle financial barriers to a creative future.
The Experience:
- Culinary: VIP hour features bites by Chef Nelson German and pours by Wachira Wines, with a gourmet 3 course menu by Michele McQueen and curated cocktails by Proximo Spirits for all guests.
- Sound: VIP cocktail hour features a youth jazz band, followed by a a spoken word piece by Nicia De'Lovely and a special performance by Kev Choice
- Art: Our auction is the highlight, showcasing powerful works by international artists including Aziz Diagne, Janet Barnes, Tyranny Allen, Fortune Sitole, Osoranna Mojekwu, Janet Barnes, Ben Agbee, Tyranny Allen, and more..
