Joy Tour with Chude Jideonwo

The JoyTourWithChude is put together by ThriveTogether Initiative in partnership with Joy Inc. UK. The event focuses on providing real-life insights on building resilience and emotional strength. It is designed specifically to help people from minority backgrounds overcome the unique mental and physical challenges that come with migration.

The transition to a new country, especially for Africans and Caribbeans in the UK, presents numerous emotional and mental health challenges including but not limited to adaptation to a new culture, dealing with systemic racial bias, and significant economic and social hurdles, all of which contribute to higher rates of depression and anxiety among immigrants.

For these people, these issues are further compounded by academic and social pressures, which may lead to feelings of isolation and diminished self-esteem. The event will hold on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at Share & Care Community Hub, Carr-Ellison House, Newcastle Business Park, NE4 7YA, United Kingdom.
