Signs of Strength

Sign Making & Printing

Dates:• Monday 20 July• Monday 3 August• Monday 17 August• Monday 7 September• Monday 21 September

Signs of Strength invites participants to create bold, text-based art inspired by their own experiences, values and hopes. What message do you want to share with your younger self, your future self, or the people in your community? Drawing inspiration from community organising and social justice movements, participants will explore typography, colour, and printmaking techniques to make text-based art toinspire, encourage, and empower.

Your work will become part of a collaborative and vibrant wall of words and images celebrating women's voices, resilience, solidarity, and self-expression.

No previous experience is required, and all materials will be provided.

The programme consists of two workshops running on alternate weeks:

Workshop 1: I Am the Story – A collaborative community embroidery project exploring identity, memory, and personal stories through stitch.

Workshop 2: Signs of Strength – Create bold, text-based artworks inspired by your experiences, values, and hopes, using typography, colour, and printmaking techniques.

Come to one workshop or join both and be part of a collective celebration of women's voices, resilience, solidarity, and self-expression.
