Ghost hunt - Barnes Institute (Sunderland)

Created in 1905. It was designed for community use, hosting regular meetings, dances, concerts and tournaments. It also had its own library and was used as an air raid shelter during World War 2. The ghost of an old man is often seen here. He is said to appear “as clear as day” and is known to crouch down in the corner. Sounds of crying, moaning, talking and early 1900’s music can be heard. Shadows flit from room to room along with sounds of children giggling and playing games.
