Common answers to the UKโs centre include Haltwistle in Northumberland or Dunsop Bridge in Lancashire. But through the power of mathematics and centroids, the true answer is a post in the Middle of Nowhere, or more accurately Whitendale Hanging Stones in the Forest of Bowlandโฆ
The route begins in the Trough of Bowland and is a challenging 16km / 10 miles across open moorland, with 520m / 1710 feet of elevation gain culminating in summiting Wolfhole Crag, home to the remotest โhard gritโ climbing routes in the UK!
Led by a qualified Hill and Moorland Leader with a wealth of experience, this small-group outing will allow you to discover and explore new places whilst completing a challenging route with the camaraderie of other like-minded people around you - There should be no desire to 'beat' anyone or break any records.
You will need to prepared for a full day in the hills and all that entails. As this is a supportive, group event accommodating a range of abilities, please consider the latest time advertised if making plans after the event.
Leave the planning and navigation to us and just enjoy venturing out into the open enjoying the views and company.
Unfortunately, due to the nature of this event, no under 18's and no dogs are permitted.
