Journal & Connect Café Session: Clarity Beyond the Page
About this Event
"It feels like untangling Medusa’s hair." That’s how one participant described sitting down with my signature journaling framework.
If your mind feels like a tangled mess of to-do lists, fatigue, and spinning thoughts, welcome to Journal & Connect, Melbourne’s cosy, guided café journaling sessions designed to help you clear the mental noise and find instant clarity over great coffee.
We all know journaling is good for us.
It’s a practice recommended by everyone from high-performance coaches to therapists and friends. The benefits are widely documented: reduced stress, better sleep, improved emotional regulation, a stronger immune system, more creativity, and a whole lot of personal growth.
But there’s a catch. Most people sit down with a notebook and a coffee, stare at the blank page, and think: “Now what?” Without a map, journaling often turns into a vent session where we just repeat our worries on paper, leaving us feeling more stuck than when we started.
This is why we don’t just "journal." We use a framework.
The Connect & Write sessions are designed for those who want to get the best out of this practice without the struggle of doing it alone. Whether you haven’t picked up a pen in years or you’re a daily writer, these sessions provide a structured, safe, and empowering space to "untangle" alongside a community that gets it.
What to Expect (and what NOT to expect)
If you’re new to this, here is the most important thing you need to know: You will never be asked to read your private journal entries out loud. We believe that the pen is for your truth, and the table is for our shared human experience.
- The Writing is Private: Your notebook is for your eyes only. You will be guided through a specific, signature framework that helps you bypass the mental chatter and access your deeper wisdom.
- The Connection is Empowering: We don't share our secrets; we share our shifts. When someone says, "I realised I’ve been carrying a weight that isn't mine," the whole table feels the power of that clarity. That is how we build community, through the resonance of common ground and growth.
Why the Framework is the Key
A blank page can be a noisy or daunting place. To get the restorative benefits of writing, you need a way to move through the layers of your experience. Our sessions act as a guided ladder:
- Landing: We drop the hustle of the day and arrive in the present moment.
- The Deep Dive: Using guided prompts to explore what’s actually happening beneath the surface.
- The Reframe: Moving from "what is wrong" to "who am I becoming," ensuring you leave the table with a sense of agency and direction.
Why do this together?
There is a unique kind of brave work that happens when we write in community. Seeing others committed to their own growth empowers you to do the same. It turns a solitary act into a collective experience of coming home to yourself. You leave the table feeling lighter, grounded, and reminded that you aren’t alone in the “mess.”

About Ingrid
Ingrid Jones is a Journal Writing Facilitator, Life Coach, and educator. While she has always found writing to be cathartic, it was the discovery of a structured, step-by-step approach that truly transformed her practice… and her life.
For the past six years, Ingrid has shared this signature framework with individuals and organisations, turning the "blank page" from a daunting space into a powerful tool for emotional regulation and clarity. She believes journalling is one of the most accessible forms of self-therapy available, a way to clear the mental clutter, listen to your inner wisdom, and move forward with an open heart.
Bringing her background as a primary school teacher into her work, Ingrid is an expert at creating nurturing, emotionally safe environments. Her sessions provide the time and guidance needed to move thoughts from a cluttered mind onto the page, allowing participants to feel empowered by their own insights.
A hallmark of Ingrid’s work is her ability to build a strong sense of community. She creates a space where people can genuinely connect and share discoveries without ever being asked to read their private journal entries aloud.
“Seeing the transformation in participants during a single session never fails to amaze me,” Ingrid says. “I call these profound results ‘the shift.’ It’s what lights me up and inspires me to do this work every day.”
Whether you’re an absolute beginner or a lifelong writer, Ingrid welcomes you to join her in making space for the thoughts that matter and finding the clarity to keep moving forward.
