WHAT IS JORDAN’S PRINCIPLE?
Jordan’s Principle provides funding to support First Nations children who need access to services, supports, or items to help them thrive.
The goal is to make sure First Nations children can access the same public services as other children, without delay. Support may include help with:
• Education
• Health services
• Childcare
• Dental and vision care
• Recreation
• Culture and language supports
IS MY CHILD ELIGIBLE?
A child may be eligible if they:
• Are under 19 years old, and
• Are registered or eligible for status, or
• Have a parent who is registered or eligible for status, or
• Are a recognized member of a First Nation
In most cases, other funding options must be looked at first. The CSFS Jordan’s Principle Service Coordinators are available to support families and will help guide you through each step of the process.
This service is here to support our children and families. If you think your child may be eligible, we encourage you to book an appointment and learn more.
