How to manage AI Risk
AI is rapidly becoming embedded in banking processes, creating both new opportunities and new control challenges. This session will explore how to manage the risks arising from the use of AI within a bank. We will discuss what makes AI risk different, how it connects to existing risk frameworks and requires a multidisciplinary approach.

Arjan de Ridder, Head of AI Risk Management at ING. LinkedIn
Arjan de Ridder is a senior risk leader at ING. As Head of AI Risk Management, he is building a dedicated capability to govern and ensure responsible adoption of AI across the bank. With a background as Global Head of Model Risk, he brings together the expertise in model risk, nonfinancial risk, and regulatory compliance, including emerging standards such as the EU AI Act.
He focuses on building practical, scalable risk governance and supporting the safe adoption of AI within a large financial institution, operating at the intersection of innovation and control.
Jurriaan Parie, Co-Founder and Director, Algorithm Audit. LinkedIn
Jurriaan is an all-round algorithm expert and co-founder of the NGO, Algorithm Audit. With a background in mathematics, he explains complex algorithms in simple language. As an AI policy watcher, he unpacks the dilemmas surrounding widespread adoption of algorithms and AI. With Algorithm Audit he is developing a European knowledge platform for AI bias testing and AI standards.
