Claiming wide-ranging influences from AC/DC and The Ramones to John Coltrane and Parliament, Johnny’s style is reminiscent of Billy Strings—a sound he calls a funky country bluegrass good time for working folks. Johnny Mullenax, a 27-year old Tulsa native, grew up in a musical family, playing guitar since the age of 5. A gifted songwriter, and vocalist beyond his years, Johnny’s versatility is only surpassed by his dedication to the craft. Blistering live performances are the stuff of legend, blending rock, country, bluegrass, blues, soul and swamptastic FUNK, Mullenax takes the Tulsa sound to soaring new heights. Johnny says, “I really genuinely believe that my whole f*cking purpose in life is to play music because you can bring a lot of people joy with it.” and with every note he plays, Johnny Mullenax proves he’s doing just that.
