Savor the Son of a Sailor is a food tour built around the Port City kid who grew up here long before Margaritaville, back when good food and a good time were just how you did a Saturday. As we walk the downtown he knew, we'll share the stories of his childhood in Mobile and how this city worked its way into his music and his appetite.
Every stop is a dish pulled from his life and his songs: a Cheeseburger in Paradise, oysters and gumbo, fresh popcorn, and beignets with a key lime twist. You'll also raise three of Jimmy's favorite boat drinks along the way, a frozen concoction and an ice cold beer among them, as we toast his life, his music, and the town that started it all.
We built this one to run during Mobile's big fall tribute to its most famous son, so it lines up with the new Jimmy Buffett exhibit at the National Maritime Museum of the Gulf and the statue on the downtown riverfront. Make a full day of it: the exhibit, the statue, and the tour.
