Jesse Wente: Tough Lies
About this Event
Rush Line Available: Pre-booked tickets for this event are sold out, but we will be running a rush line beginning on the day of the event. Any seats that become available will be opened up to the rush line on a first-come, first-served basis beginning 15 minutes before the show starts. Please continue to check back as more tickets may also become available.
In Tough Lies, Wente explores his own healing path and how it informs what he sees as necessary for reconciliation between Nations, asking us to consider several pressing questions.
What does healing from colonialism look like for First Nations? What about non-Indigenous people? What are the barriers to this healing, and what can we do to move past them?
Through a lens of healing and anti-colonial thought, Wente examines his reaction to incidents that have hit close to home, chronicling his personal journey and what it has taught him about the present and future of reconciliation in Canada.
Jesse Wente speaks with professor Kim Anderson about Tough Lies and the path for healing between Nations.
Q&A and book signing to follow. Books available for purchase.
