Allie Kenny is a New Jersey–born singer and songwriter raised just outside New York City. She grew up playing piano in a musical household, writing songs quietly from a young age.
As a teenager, she fell deep into the world of ’60s and ’70s records, beginning with David Bowie and the Beatles. From there, she gravitated toward the soft rock and Laurel Canyon artists of the era, before eventually discovering Big Star and the jangly, harmony-driven “power pop” groups that followed.
