About this Event
Jessica Brown is a singer-songwriter based in Syracuse. Originally from the Thousand Islands region, she started off singing in church and coffeehouses. Since moving to Syracuse in 2008, she briefly attended OCC for music and then pursued a music career with various bands. Her reggae/soul-inspired band, Root Shock, has released several albums and music videos and toured up and down the East Coast. Her other project Ruha, performs around Central New York. Both bands are currently writing and recording new music and are excited for what the future holds.
Jess Novak is a triple-threat singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. With a shredding five-string electric violin, powerful vocals, and captivating songs, Novak is a force in any formation: solo, duo, or band. Having touched audiences across the country – from Burlington, VT to Key West, FL to San Diego, CA – Novak plays more than 150 shows every year and has released 14 original albums, and a book, to date.
As a free-spirited deep-feeler, Jessie Elizabeth is creating Alternative Americana music for listeners to twirl around in the woods somewhere, shed a few tears, shake a fist, or all of the above. With a knack for genuine storytelling and imaginative yet poignant lyricism, the indie artist invites audiences into her world with her empowering debut album, To Go and Grow, released July 2025.
Originally from the Buffalo area and now based in Syracuse, Jessie has been considered a rising voice in Central New York since stepping onto the scene in the fall of 2022. She had gathered the courage to do her first open mic just months earlier, and the rest was history. Her combined artistry and authenticity quickly began turning heads at the start of her career and have continued to open more doors for her to connect with a growing community.
