"Great songs, great lyrics, great band!" This is what Gene Shay, former host of the Philadelphia Folk Festival, as well as the Folk Show on WXPN in Philly, had to say about the Jersey Corn Pickers when they appeared on his radio show in 2014. A Philly area band that plays original and traditional high energy bluegrass and americana music. Their style is informed by their love of old time, folk, rock, blues, traditional country, jamgrass and all manners of roots music. Together for 14 years, their line-up is Mike McLane on bass and vocals, Barry Hollander on guitar and vocals, Harry Gambrill on banjo and vocals, JC Bell on mandolin and vocals, and Larry Maltz on Dobro. They have three albums, Jersey Corn Pickers, Lessons Learned, and A Little Something and are currently recording their fourth album.Festivals played include the Philadelphia Folk Festival PA; the Ossippee Vally Music Festival (ME); the Lehigh Valley Bluegrass Festival; the Wilmington Winter Bluegrass Festival (DE); the Bucks County Bluegrass Festival (PA); Camp Jam in the Pines Festival (NJ); the Bucks County Bluegrass Festival (PA); where Grammy winning bluegrass legend Peter Rowan came out on stage with them to perform; the IBMA Event of the Year Podunk Bluegrass Festival (CT); the OATS Bluegrass Festival (PA); the Busy Bird Bluegrass Festival (NY); Smoked Country Jam (PA); the DC Bluegrass Festival (DC); the Traveling Man Bluegrass Festival (NY), the North Branch Bluegrass Festival (VT), the Xtreme Folk Scene Festival (PA); the Midnight Mountain Music Show (PA), Robin and Beth Fest (PA), Into The Pines Music Fest (NJ) and more.
