Join Jeanette Lynes for the Saskatoon launch of her new novel The Paper Birds (HarperCollins Canada), featuring a conversation with author and guest host Kristine Scarrow.
This event will be held live in the Travel Alcove and also available as a simultaneous YouTube stream.

The Paper Birds is a historical novel about women codebreakers in Canada during World War Two and the secrecy they had to maintain about their work. Set on the shores of Lake Ontario, it is also a love story and, like Jeanette Lynes' other novels, explores the lives of everyday people trying to make their way in a troubled world.

Jeanette Lynes' fourth novel is The Paper Birds, published by HarperCollins Canada. Her third novel, The Apothecary's Garden was a finalist for a High Plains Book Award and shortlisted for two Saskatchewan Book Awards. Jeanette's second novel, The Small Things that End the World won the 2019 Fiction award at the Saskatchewan Book Awards. Her first novel, The Factory Voice, was long-listed for the Giller Prize. Jeanette is also the author of seven books of poetry. Her collection of personal essays, Apron Apocalypse: Lyric Essays, is forthcoming from Thistledown Press.
Kristine Scarrow is the author of four young adult titles, all published by Dundurn Press. She holds an MFA in Writing from the University of Saskatchewan and was the 2022-2023 Saskatoon Public Library Writer in Residence. She teaches post-secondary and has just finished her latest young adult novel. She lives in Saskatoon.
