The Kansas City band Horace-scope celebrates the compositions of the great Horace Silver. The band has performed in many venues over the last 20 years and features Stanton Kessler on trumpet, David Chael on tenor saxophone, Roger Wilder on piano, James Albright on bass, and John Kizilarmut on drums.
Horace Silver was an American jazz pianist and composer who pioneered the "hard bop" style, an extension of bebop that incorporates elements of gospel music and rhythm and blues.
