We welcome Madison Sloan as our featured artist for January 2026 with her showcase "The Work of Small Marks".Come check out her pieces on Saturday, January 3 from 3pm to 7pm, where hors d'oeuvres and wine will be served courtesy of Rosevilla Restaurant and Bar!
Madison Sloan is a 23-year-old artist and photographer raised in Ormond Beach. Her creative practice began in childhood and has continued to evolve over time. This body of work marks a shift from her earlier pop art–influenced acrylic paintings toward a slower, process-driven practice rooted in stippling. Using thousands of small dots to build black-and-white images, the work relies on variations in density and proximity to create the illusion of
shading and depth. The process unfolds gradually, with form emerging through accumulation rather than gesture. The final image does not fully reveal itself until the piece is finished, allowing chance and perception to play an active role. This method echoes sculptural thinking, where form is revealed over time rather than immediately imposed. Across the series, she focuses on light, intimacy, and moments of threshold, where figures sit between clarity and obscurity.
