Workshop One is Waterbirds in Watercolour on Saturday 16 May 2026 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Workshop Two is Wildflowers and Orchids in Watercolour on Saturday 6 June 2026 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm. Both workshops are in person and tickets are $60 each.
Join Perth artist Jane Li for two relaxed, hands-on workshops at The Wetlands Centre Cockburn. Suitable for youth and adults. All materials are included.

WATERBIRDS IN WATERCOLOUR
Learn to draw and paint wetland birds step by step.
In this workshop, Jane Li will guide participants through the process of drawing and painting waterbirds in watercolour. The session focuses on simple ways to build form using line, shape, shade and softened edges, then bring the painting to life with colour.
It is designed for beginners and developing artists alike, and is ideal for anyone who enjoys birds, nature or careful observational drawing.

WILDFLOWERS AND ORCHIDS IN WATERCOLOUR
Paint native blooms with clarity, colour and careful detail.
This workshop explores wildflowers and orchids through a guided watercolour process. Jane Li will show participants how to draw floral forms, understand structure and build colour gradually to create a balanced botanical painting.
The session is suitable for beginners and for those wanting to refine their observation and painting skills through a native flora subject.

ABOUT JANE LI
Jane Li is a Perth-based visual artist, photographer and art teacher. Trained in China, she later fell in love with Australian native flora and fauna and has made them a central part of her practice.
Since 2015, she has also been a volunteer guide at Kings Park. Her knowledge of native plants informs both her artwork and her teaching.
Jane has exhibited and led workshops across Western Australia, including at WA Museum Boola Bardip, Kings Park festivals, Victoria Park Centre for the Arts, Beverley, Narrogin, Goldfields Art Centre and Koorliny Arts Centre.
She is known for detailed watercolours of birds and native plants, and for workshops that are welcoming, clear and skill-focused.
