Songwriter, guitarist and rock ’n’ roll romantic. Jan Bas might just be one of Belgium’s best kept secrets in pop and rock! 🍂🥃🎙️
You may have heard him without even knowing it. His voice has featured on soundtracks for Safety First (The Movie), Liefde and Paradise City, while he has toured with projects including 27 Years Nirvana Unplugged and Paradise City.
Together with producer Mario Goossens, Jan spent two years crafting and recording his own songs, surrounded in the studio by musicians including Douglas Firs, Pete Shoulder, Karel Van Mileghem, David Poltrock and Birsen Uçar. The final mixes were handled by Greg Gordon, known for his work with Nick Cave, Triggerfinger and Oasis.
His love for soul, roots and heartland Americana forms the foundation of his own sound, with influences ranging from Richard Hawley and Leon Bridges to a young Bruce Springsteen.
On 1 April 2027, Jan Bas will celebrate the release of his debut album at AB Club in Brussels. But first, on Monday 2 November, you can catch him live at Missy Sippy, completely free!
