Memphis Mojo – The Songs of John Hiatt is the new musical project around Naomi Sijmons, also known as Reena Riot and daughter of Fons Sijmons of The Scabs.
✩✩✩✩✩
With her beautiful voice, emotional honesty and strong stage presence, she takes on John Hiatt’s repertoire as if these songs were written for her. She brings his stories to life with respect for the originals, while making them completely her own.
And she is not doing it alone. Bert Embrechts (De Laatste Showband, Vaya Con Dios, Raymond van het Groenewoud) on bass, Eric Bosteels (Hooverphonic, Gorki, Raymond van het Groenewoud) on drums and Luc Janssens (BJ Scott, Last Call) on guitar. A band with a serious amount of experience behind it.
Together they dive into John Hiatt’s impressive songbook: blues, roots rock and songs that still stand strong after all these years. Not a copy, but Memphis Mojo.
This autumn, Missy Sippy proudly presents a series of already legendary club shows featuring some of the finest blues and roots artists, both international and local. Iconic and intimate nights you truly want to be part of.
