Solo show from the talented multi-instrumentalist and member of The La's, Cast and The ZutonsSelf-taught multi-instrumentalist James Jay Lewis has graced some of the biggest stages across the globe as part of three of the biggest bands to come out of Liverpool (apart from you-know-who)! Performing in The La's, playing bass for the band Cast and is currently the lead guitarist in The Zutons.
At age 8, James picked up his first guitar and embarked upon a lifelong journey in music. Self-taught, honing his craft through countless hours of listening to the likes of Hendrix, Zeppelin, Floyd, Nick Drake and many more. Forming the band Cractilla, they toured up and down the UK in the early 00s and he has been a professional musician ever since.
James' two solo albums, both written and produced by himself, 'Back To The Fountain' and 'Waiting For The World' are testaments to his diverse musical talent. 'Back To The Fountain' is an acoustic odyssey where every note and sound tells the story of a beautiful masterpiece.
His newly released album, 'Waiting For The World' on the other hand is a unique low-fi experience. It has a captivating charm as James plays all the instruments on the record. A rough and ready garage blues masterpiece. Fans agree, describing it as innovative, diverse and a truly pleasing aural experience, an album well worth owning.
As James continues to forge a journey in music, he has had the privilege of working with Nile Rogers at Abbey Road Studios and was involved in the new Zutons 2024 album 'The Big Decider'. James is venturing into the domains of recording, producing and composing for television and film.
We are thrilled that James Jay Lewis will be making his Sound Lounge debut on Friday 20th March, sharing his distinctive sound and showcasing tracks from his two solo albums along with fresh new material.
Doors 7pm, show from 8pm. James shall play two sets, one acoustic and one electric.
