JAMA'A Sound Lab is a hands-on DJ and music production workshop open to complete beginners, built for anyone who has ever wanted to turn their love for music into a real creative skill. No experience needed. No equipment required. Just show up ready to learn.

This month's session is led by JAMA'A member Sam Chimes (@SamChimes), a professional DJ and live looping artist, alongside co-facilitators sharing their own journeys in DJing and music production. Together they create a supportive, low-pressure environment where you are on professional gear from the very first minute.

→ A little history on DJing — from selectors to energy directors, the club era to the digital age → Setting tempo & beatmatching — the foundational skill every DJ builds on → Energy control — a simple framework for building and maintaining the room's energy → EQing — how to shape sound and keep your mix clean → Transitions — one clean, professional technique you can take home and practise → Live looping — watch Sam layer a live looping performance over a DJ track in real time

WHAT YOU TAKE HOME

A personal audio clip of your first DJ moment recorded live during your session, named, and delivered to you via Google Drive after the event. This is yours to keep, share, and build from.
