J-Film | Lady Snowblood

Presented by the Japan Information & Culture Center, Embassy of Japan and Japan Commerce Association of Washington D.C.

On the occasion of America’s 250th birthday, we are excited to continue our special film series, Double Exposure, a celebration of the history of cultural and cinematic exchange between the U.S. and Japan. Our next film is the thrilling and bloody, Lady Snowblood. ⚔️
Released in the 1970s, Lady Snowblood is a pillar of Japanese action cinema that’s influenced film makers worldwide. The film stars KAJI Meiko as Yuki, a woman who has dedicated herself to tracking down and slaughtering the four criminals who destroyed her family. Bold visuals, starkly contrasting colors and nuanced characters have earned Lady Snowblood its place as one of the great classics of genre film.
Join us on July 9th for this next screening in our summer of great films! 🎞️
